The Z is NOT a drag car. But if you feel like slipping the hell out of your clutch, it can definitely be launched without wheel hop. And you can spin the tires without hopping, but the more aggressive you are on the gas from the launch, the more the car will hop. It is a very difficult car to launch as you say. But a good driver could drive around the problem a bit. As I said before though, this doesn't eliminate the problem...only hides it. That was my basic point. I don't find this a solution to wheel hop. That was my basic point. I agree with everything else you say though. But remember, no driver is 100% consistent. There will be times when even good drivers will launch too hard and get wheel hop...therefore, not a solution...but new bushings are!
